GlobeSmart Guides are a feature available on Aperian Premium and Enterprise plans.
There are 101 GlobeSmart Guides available in Aperian. Each GlobeSmart Guide contains in-depth, valuable information on doing business in that culture to help you succeed when working there, or with colleagues from the culture.
Accessing GlobeSmart Guides from the Aperian Dashboard
To launch the GlobeSmart Guides from the Aperian Dashboard, you can click any of the culture in the GlobeSmart Guide section of the page.
You can also search for a particular GlobeSmart Guide by clicking on the search bar where it says "Search Cultures. This will open a list of all 102 cultures included in GlobeSmart Guides. You can scroll and select from the list, or start typing to refine the list.
Accessing GlobeSmart Guides from the Guide Homepage
To access the GlobeSmart Guides homepage, you can click the link in the lefthand navigation pane. Once on the page, you can browse and search for Guides the same way you would on the dashboard, described above. You can select a Guide by clicking on the container.
Navigating within GlobeSmart Guides
Once you are in GlobeSmart Guides, you can navigate in several ways: using the Top Navigation Menus, the Section Tiles, or the Full Topic Index. Each GlobeSmart Guide is organized into Sections, and each Section contains several Topics.
Top Navigation Menus
The navigation menus across the top of every page allow you to change Culture, Section, and Topic:
- From within a Culture, select a Section: Core Knowledge, Communication, Relationship Building, Working with Customers and Colleagues, Leading People, Local Business Environment, Protocol, and Travel. Some Cultures also have a Section on National Diversity.
- Once you've selected a Section, a new menu containing that Section's Topics will appear. You can select a particular Topic, or launch a Topic from its summary preview on that Section's page.
- You'll use the Culture menu if you wish to switch from one GlobeSmart Guide to another.
Section Tiles
Each GlobeSmart Guide home page contains Section Tiles, offering quick access to each Section: Core Knowledge, Local Inclusion and Diversity, Communication, Relationship Building, Working with Customers and Colleagues, Leading People, Local Business Environment, Protocol, and Travel. Click a tile to read a summary of each Topic in that Section.
The GlobeSmart Guide home pages also have Featured Sections offering a high-level preview of what you will find in that Section.
