What is My Skills?
My Skills is an activity checklist to help develop essential skills for interactions with global colleagues and customers. After completing the required number of prescribed activities in Aperian, individuals earn different skills for global collaboration.
It is an easy way to interact with different features of the Aperian platform. Individuals learn more about themselves and others and ways to leverage similarities and differences to improve collaboration.
How it Works
When a user clicks My Skills in the top right of the header for the first time, they will be prompted to complete the GlobeSmart Profile survey if they have not already done so. This is the first activity on the checklist. Users are notified in an on-screen message when activities are completed and Skills are earned.
The My Skills icon in the header allows users to view their recent activities and track progress. The My Skills page provides a detailed summary of their achievements and the activities still remaining to earn each Skill. From there, users can easily navigate to the necessary activities to complete them.

Using and Growing with My Skills
The implementation of My Skills delivers results by following behavioral science principles such as intermittent immediate gratification (providing positive rewards immediately at irregular intervals) and the consistency principle (people continue to do things that they've gotten positive results from in the past). With these two key guiding factors, My Skills helps users engage deeper and more often with Aperian learning experiences.
